Codon Matrix Resources

The purpose of this page is to make additional resources for the empircial codon matrix available. Details about the matrix can be found in the original article:

A Schneider, GM Cannarozzi and GH Gonnet (2005): Empirical Codon Substitution Matrix, BMC Bioinformatics 6:134. [Open Access]

Resources for original matrix

All files have a similar format: the first line contains all the codons in alphabetical order, followed by one tab-separated line of frequencies or 64 tab-separated lines describing a matrix.
Frequencies freqs.txt
Rate matrix (Q) rates.txt
Exchangeabilities (S) exch.txt

Resources for other matrices

We will also provide the same resource files for other matrices that are more specific to certain data sets.
